The GARMIN Zumo 660 provides very fast automatic route calculation and route optimization by reordering via-points of routes with multiple intermediate destinations. It provides visual and voice guidance and the lane assistant indicates the correct path in great detail if there are multiple lanes. The Zumo 660 has a large, easy to read color display with touchscreen, an extremely sensitive antenna, an integrated world map (overview) plus a
base map of Europe, Africa and the near East. It has a multi-lingual user interface and is easy to use via the touchscreen.
The Zumo 660 has 3.71 GB built-in memory to store pre-installed, detailed maps of all of Europe with even more information, such as local roads, restaurants and points of interest. A DVD City Navigator Europe NT plus a free unlock code is also included. There are approx. 1.72 GB of unused memory to store other data such as waypoints, MP3 files and pictures. This
model also has a speech computer to announce the names of the roads and to read audible books.
The Zumo 660 is equipped with a BlueTooth interface to communicate with mobile phones which have the required communication capabilities in order to call car rental offices, hotels, restaurants etc. whose phone numbers are stored on the GPS with a single touch on the screen. It can also act as a hands-free extension set to the phones.
Finally, the Zumo 660 has a slot for an optional microSD memory
module to store additional detailed maps or data such as MP3 files or images and it supports an optional TMC receiver to incorporate traffic news. It provides navigation information outdoors, in a car, in a train or even in an airplane (see MapSource examples).

These messages are broadcasted for free and do not
require any subscriptions. The TMC receiver works independent from the car radio and finds stations with traffic news messages automatically.
